in the grocery store
i keep thinking i'll see you
choosing from ten thousand tomato sauces
i sometimes think about your angry mouth
i wanted you to know, i listened to the message you left
over the summer
at least three times before making my decision
do you remember when we cut tiny speech bubbles
for the people in the toile wall paper?
"do you want these apples?"
---"no"

I really like this poem - easy to identify with be it a coffee shop, grocery store or walking around the block. Nicely done.
Love this.
Love the segmented voice. It jumps around but still conves a concrete image. Glad I found your blog(s). Read the other one first. If your interested:

I am also a Poet, I usually don't look on how flowery is the wording applied in the content of the poem, but I am perfectly looking on it "Meaning, Lessons, Advices, Righteousness" which can applied to our daily life..Thank you for sharing this lovely and meaningful poem of you.

Wow - you hit my heart with this - the feelings I experience, except it would be her picking out veggies, her angry eyes, my empty basket.
I liked it.
Thanks, can you pass the Kleenex please.
Joe
